Major Train Stations in Paris
There are six major train stations in Paris serving both domestic and international destinations.
  • Gare du Nord is the hub for trains coming into Paris from the U.K., Northern France and parts of Northern Europe. The Eurostar reach Gare du Nord from London.
  • Gare de Lyon is the station where trains from Lyon, Aix en Provence, Marseille, French Riviera, Geneva, and Italy arrive. Many of the trains operating from here are bullet trains that make ot possible to travel from Lyon to Paris in 2 hours, and from Marseille to Paris in 3 hours.
  • Gare d'Austerlitz connects Paris to destinations like Toulouse and Bordeux in the South-West of France, the Loire Valley, and Spain.
  • Gare Saint-Lazare has trains running to Normandy in Northern France and the UK. The trains to the UK are however, not Eurostar.
  • Gare de l'Est is the destination for trains from Strasbourg and Alsace in Eastern-France. Trains also arrive from parts of Germany, Luxembourg, and Central/Eastern Europe.
  • Gare Montparnasse mainly operates bullet trains travelling to Nantes and Bordeaux.
